At a time when movies try to give away as little of the storyline as possible before the release of the movie, the first official trailer of Bareilly Ki Barfi is like a breath of fresh air.
From the trailer itself, it's clear that the lead stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao are in a love-triangle, but with a twist.
Taking place in the small town of Bareilly is the story of liberal minded Kriti who falls in love with the writer of a book and embarks on a search for the writer, accompanied by the book publisher along the way.
The movie Bareilly Ki Barfi is based on a French novel 'Ingredients of Love' which the filmmakers adapted to suit Uttar Pradesh. In the film, Ayushmann is the owner of a printing press, Rajkummar is an author and Kriti is a liberal minded UP girl.
Kapil Chopra from BR Studios shared the origin of the quirky title and was quoted as saying, “It’s a fun film. Kriti’s family owns a mithai shop and that’s where the story takes off and hence the title. I always say Kriti is my Bareilly Ki Barfi in the film.”
Directed by Ashwiny Iyer, the movie is set to release on August 18.
