VJ-cum-singer-cum-actor Ayushmann Khurrana's last Bollywood outing Meri Pyaari Bindu tanked at the box office, nonetheless, he is back with Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao for 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', the first look of which was released on Tuesday.
A Junglee Pictures and BR Studio production, the movie is helmed by director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari of Nil Battey Sannata fame. The movie Bareilly Ki Barfi has been adapted from a French novel Ingredients of Love with the setting changed from France to Uttar Pradesh.
Nitish Tiwari who penned the script said to media, "It's difficult to adapt any book into a film. The French settings are alien to us, so we've only retained the basic theme and infused our own colours, quirks and characters into the story. The parents, friends and lovers, their professions and their basic habits have all been adapted to our culture. I got time to work on the script because Ashwiny was caught up with the post-production of her first film. I just hope that the audience likes my first tryst with breezy cinema."
In the movie, Ayushmann owns a printing press, Kriti is a liberal-minded UP girl and Rajkummar is an author. Although behind-the-scenes pictures have been coming, the first look was finally released on Tuesday.
