The eleventh season of Indian Premier League has recently culminated and like every year, bookies made big bets throughout the tournament. While investigating through the IPL betting scam, Thane police had summoned actor-turned-director Arbaaz Khan for interrogation.

Reportedly, Salman Khan's younger brother's name cropped up post Police busted a betting ring and arrested 42-year-old bookie, Sonu Jalan alias Sonu Batla.  Jalan who allegedly operates in both the country and abroad is linked with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

The bookie was arrested from Kalyan court in Mumbai. The actor was summoned for alleged placements of money on matches during the 11th season of the IPL through bookies. He has been asked to record his statement by the anti-extortion cell of Thane crime branch.

A senior officer of anti-extortion cell stated that the actor-producer has been summoned to ascertain "his role in the betting racket and which shall be confirmed once his statement is recorded." A Times Now report claimed that the actor lost Rs 2.8 crore in IPL bets.

Jalan was first arrested in 2008 and reportedly holds association with many Bollywood celebrities. Reportedly having an annual turnover of close to Rs 100 crore, he was nabbed on the Kalyan sessions court premises, where he reached to support his partners who were produced there on Tuesday.
