Director Pan Nalin of the upcoming film "Angry Indian Goddesses" says Indian audiences accept good films belonging to all genres. angry indian goddesses f "I think Indian audiences are ready to accept films belonging to all genres and they can smell good movies. All we need to do is bridge the gap between distributors, exhibitors and audiences to make it easy for a film to release," Nalin told reporters here at the trailer launch of the film. "Angry Indian Goddesses" is about seven girls who get together after many years for a friend's bachelorette in Goa. The director reveals he had faced a number of difficulties, including finding a distributor for the film. "We have wanted to release this film in India since a long time but could not because we did not get the right support from people," he said. "We had a really tough time in finding distributors for our film. We are a part of star-driven industry or rather than studio-driven industry. The biggest problem in India is that we have great film-makers but their films don't get the ideal release platform," he added. The film has been part of festivals like Toronto and Zurick film festivals. "Festival screening was never a part of our plan as the only intent to make this film is to entertain the audiences in India. We cannot write off our audiences like that as we know people will like this film," the director said. "To prove the distributors wrong, we conducted 10 to 12 test screening across the nation and we got a terrific response from all over. The film was shown in Rajasthan and other rural areas too and the response was very positive," Nalin said. "Angry Indian Goddesses" is slated to release in India this Diwali when Salman Khan starrer "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is also releasing. The film stars Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sarah-Jane Dias, Sandhya Mridul, Anushka Manchanda, Amrit Maghera, Rajshri Deshpande and Pavleen Gujral. In the film, Sarah plays the role of Frieda who invites her closest girl friends to Goa to announce her wedding which catapults into a wild bachelorette party. "There is lots of love and compassion in our film. For every women love and compassion is a default setting so over a period of time that default setting is taken for granted. You will get to know lot of other things in the film," Sarah said.
