Blue-Eyed Diva, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Hoists Tri-Colour at IFFM 2017

Setting an example, Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has touched another milestone in her long list of accomplishments, becoming the first ever woman to hoist the Indian National Flag at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

Celebrating the 70 years of Indian independence, the former Miss World took honour in hoisting the national flag at the festival. She was accompanied by her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan to the festival.

 

The mother-daughter duo was looking charming while taking proud in wearing traditional outfits for the event. While Aishwarya was seen donning a floor-length Anarkali, little Aaradhya was dressed in ghagra choli.

Acknowledging Melbourne for the honour, Mrs Bachchan said, "Thank you so much Melbourne, thank you, everyone, for giving us such a moment of pride and happiness with so much love and warmth. Celebrating our 70th Independence Day will forever be such a beautiful memory for me and my dearest Aaradhya."

IFFM is an annual Indian film festival based in Australia, established in 2010 to celebrate films from India and the Sub-continent. Karan Johar, Konkona Sen Sharma, Malaika Arora were among the many Bollywood celebrities who graced the red carpet of the festival this year.
