Days before the release of Rajkumar Hirani's much-awaited film 'Sanju' based on the life of Bollywood's "Bad Boy" Sanjay Dutt, an interesting fact has surfaced about the biopic. And no, it's neither related to Ranbir Kapoor's awe-inspiring transformation nor a new poster release.
Rather the news is related to Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan, as you must have established after reading the headline. The powerhouse actor was reportedly approached by the film's director to play the role of Sanjay Dutt's father, Sunil Dutt in 'Sanju' but he refused.
Media reports suggest that the actor was considering to take up the role after finding the script the interesting but later dropped the idea. The reason? Well, Aamir was already shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal and didn't want to repeat playing an old character soon after. He has a macho image to maintain after all.
Talking to the Outlook, Hirani shared, "Aamir is a friend. Any script I write, I bounce it to him. When I narrated 'Sanju' to him, he loved it and said, "I should also do something in it." But he was already doing the role of an elderly man in 'Dangal' around the same time."
Nonetheless, what was Aamir Khan's loss became Paresh Rawal's gain who was later roped in to play the legendary Sunil Dutt in Sanjay's biopic. The film also stars Manisha Koirala as Sanjay's mother Nargis, Anushka Sharma as a journalist, Vicky Kaushal as Dutt's friend and Sonam Kapoor as his ex-girlfriend Tina Munim (now Ambani).
The makers have shocked the viewers with Ranbir Kapoor's uncanny resemblance with Sanjay Dutt in the film's teaser, piquing their interest in the onscreen display of actor's love affairs, playboy image, acting career or tryst with illegal arms which unfolds on June 29, 2018.
