The AAP government has decided to teach Sanskrit to the people of Delhi that can be practically used in everyday life through a three-month course that will be run by the government’s Sanskrit Academy.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is also the Language and Education portfolio said, “Though Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages in the world, its usage is now very limited and with the course, we're trying to make it enjoyable for people. In schools, grammar and forms are taught, but here we want to teach Sanskrit in a way which ordinary people will understand and enjoy.”

The three-month course will be offered for a nominal fee at the 75 Sanskrit teaching centres that the AAP government has decided to open across Delhi.
