Following the unfortunate incident of CBSE paper leak which unfolded on March 28, 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the date of re-examination for Class 12th Economics and Class 10th Mathematics paper.

The economics paper will be re-conducted on April 25 whereas the mathematics paper is likely to be re-conducted in July. A final decision will be announced in the coming 15 days as there are chances that no re-exam is held for the Class 10th students.

Moreover, if the re-examination does take place for Class 10 students, it will be restricted to the schools of Haryana and Delhi only as the leak was confined to these two particular areas only. The date of examination, if it takes place, will be announced later.

Addressing the media over the CBSE paper leak, Secretary Education Anil Swarup confirmed, "No leak of CBSE papers outside India, hence no re-exam will be held abroad." He further implied that 35 people associated with various educational institutes have been interrogated.

The opposition and students have been protesting against the re-examination while questioning the sanctity of CBSE's assessment system. Various political leaders have urged the central government and board authorities to conduct a thorough investigation before taking any decision.

An anonymous mail sent to CBSE on March 23 alerted the board of a possible exam paper leak. The source also alleged the involvement of a coaching centre and two schools in leaking the economics exam paper of Class 12th.
