However, according to his ranking at 2467 All India Rank, he has secured a seat in Mechanical Engineering with Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar and may try again to secure admission in IIT Roorkee.

"He could be the youngest candidate this year to join an IIT. His class X marksheet confirms that he is 15 and a half years old. He was born on November 9, 2001," said a JEE staffer to TOI.

The high achiever is not ready to settle though, "Since I jumped initial classes, I could complete my XII before other students. I have been lucky to crack JEE Advanced as well. I want to be in IIT-Roorkee and hope I will get it," Abhay said.

His father Mukesh Agarwal who is a pump attendant at the Firozabad Nagar Nigam said, "Abhay has brought us laurels at an early age. When the chief medical officer in Firozabad had to prepare his medical certificate, he was surprised. At IIT Kanpur also, JEE staff was amazed to know he was this young. He is a talented boy with high capabilities. He would finish BTech also in the stipulated time."

The youth revealed the secret behind his success and said,  "Though I created a Facebook account three years ago, I stopped using it when I entered class XI. After cracking JEE Advanced, I was gifted a smartphone by my father. Before this, I never used a smartphone."

Abhay had appeared for his Class 10 exams from UP board, securing 85.63% and cleared his Class 12 exams from CBSE board with 87.2% and has been interested in robotics since the beginning.

"I want to launch a start-up which would deal in products related to robotics. This is why I am opting for mechanical engineering," he said.
