Steve Waugh, the former Australian skipper, is very impressed with Virat Kohli and his aggressive batting style as he wants his son to emulate the Indian Test skipper.
"I have a 16- year-old son (Austin Waugh) and I have told him 'if you need someone as your role model, I think he should be Virat Kohli'.
“He (Austin) should aspire to play like him,” Waugh told Mumbai Mirror.
"I like aggression in players, if it can be controlled. Sometimes, Virat crosses the line a little bit but I like his passion. I think he is probably the best batsman in the world. Technically, he is fantastic." Waugh said about Kohli.
With a word of caution, Waugh also claimed that the 27-year-old Indian will go down as an all-time great.
"Virat Kohli will go down as an all-time great. I think Rahane (Ajinkya) will also get into that category..." said Waugh.
When asked about whether there ever be another Waugh, Tendulkar, Ponting, Dravid, Warne, Gilchrist, McGrath..., the former Australian skipper said, "Of course,"
"Steve Smith will go down as a great player, Pat Cummins, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc... they have the potential to become legends. David Warner may also end up as a great batsman." He added.
