Rohit Sharma Joins Virat Kohli In ICC's Top 5 ODI Ranking

Riding on the stunning performance in the last ODI against Australia, Indian Batsman Rohit Sharma has moved up to the fifth position in the latest ICC ODI Rankings, where Captain Virat Kohli is leading the chart.

At the 9th rank before the final ODI on Sunday, Rohit Sharma gained 4 positions thanks to his energetic performance in the match. The cricketer knocked 125 runs off 109 balls to take chasing India reach the 243-run target.

This comes as Rohit Sharma's best ranking of in his career.

India defeated Australia in the fifth ODI sweeping the series with a 4-1 victory over the Kangaroos. Although, the Indian team had already won the series with its victory in the third match last week.

Rohit Sharma is the only second batsman to make a spot in the top 5 list.

The ICC ODI ranking of batsman has Virat Kohli leading the chart, who is followed by Australia's David Warner, South Africa's AB de Villiers, England's Joe Root and now India's Rohit Sharma.

MS Dhoni and Shikhar Dhawan are the only other two batsmen to have a secure place in the list. On the other hand, mid-pacer Jasprit Bumrah is also on the fifth position of the ICC's bowler raking.

Akshar Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also the only one to have secured a position in the list.

In the Sunday match, Axar Patel and Ajinkya Rahane were the only others in the team to have made a significant contribution.
