Indian cricket team's acting captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday created history by hitting his 3rd double hundred in One Day Internationals while playing for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka in Mohali. Following the team's disappointing performance in Dharamsala ODI, the score was taken as a tight slap to Lankan players.

Notably, the day also marks Rohit's second wedding anniversary with wife Ritika Sajdeh who was present in the stadium to watch her husband play like a boss. Sajdeh seemed visibly nervous throughout the match and kept praying for the team's great performance. Seems like her wishes came true when Rohit created history which his lady love witnessed with naked eyes.

The entire stadium erupted in cheers for congratulating the acting skipper on his achievement but the fans didn't miss the small gesture by Sharma which left his wife in tears. Peaking at Ritika, who was present at the stands, Rohit kissed his ring finger before pointing at his woman in a clear indication that his milestone was dedicated to her and their relationship.

Rohit's little gesture was not missed by his fans who were left in complete awe of this talented batsman. His phenomenal performance in the field made the Lankan players sweat, which didn't help their case at all. The cricketer entered Punjab Cricket Association I.S. Bindra Stadium with pure determination and patience which helped him in scoring 208 of 153-balls.

While playing his game patiently and cautiously, the player scored his career's 16th ODI hundred off 115 balls, which prompted the Lankan bowlers to play aggressively giving the batsman an opportunity to score his next hundred in only 36 deliveries. His strong 208 included striking 12 sixes and 13 fours.

Rohit's praise-worthy partnership of 115 runs and 213 runs with Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer respectively helped the team in setting the humongous target of 392 runs for Sri Lankan team. While Dhawan’s individual score was 68 runs off 67 balls, Iyer scored 88 runs of 70 balls. After Dhoni's early return to the pavilion, Hardik Pandya helped Sharma in scoring the ending 147 runs in 10 overs.

In the second innings, Sri Lanka was only able to score 251 runs and India won the match by 141. It won't be wrong to say that Men in Blue took their revenge for last match's loss. Both the teams are now equal on the scoreboard by winning one match each in the series. The final and third match on Sunday at Visakhapatnam will determine which team will emerge as the winner.
