In what will be remembered as one of the finest knocks in the history of the 2017 world cup Harmanpreet Kaur smashed 171* to make sure that India defeats Australia to enter the final.

Harmanpreet Kaur was at her very best on Thursday as she became the second highest individual run scorer in ODIs for India behind Deepti Sharma's 188 not out against South Africa earlier this year.

This was Harman's third ODI century as she smashed 20 fours and 7 sixes to reach the score of 171.She was outstanding when she started striking the ball well as her power hitting is unmatched and that makes her really special.

The milestone from 51 to 100 was reached in 26 balls while she raced to 150 from 101 in mere 17 balls. The sixes that she was hitting were all pure effortless strokes and came naturally to her.

Her footwork against the spinners was exemplary as she would repeatedly come down the track to loft them in the arc between long-on and deep midwicket.

She seemed in some discomfort with a side strain but that did not deter her from targeting the on-side as a whopping 137 runs were added in 13.4 overs along with Deepti Sharma (25) for the fourth wicket.
