Anil Kumble Hits 47! Cricketers Pour 'India's Greatest Dhan' With Birthday Wishes

India's former captain and coach, Anil Kumble celebrates his 47th birthday on Tuesday and many former and current Indian cricketers are super-excited. Recognised as one of the greatest spinners world cricket has ever seen, Kumble is commonly known as 'Jumbo' in his friend circle.

In his International cricket career of over 2 decades, Kumble has picked 619 Test and 337 ODI wickets. Anil retired from ODI cricket after the memorable ICC World Cup of 2007. Almost 10 years ago, he was declared the captain of Indian test team, soon after which he retired from test cricket in 2008.

The player has many records to his name, one of the greatest being taking 10 wickets in one inning. The achievement brought double joy to Indian fans as the victory was against Pakistan. Before Kumble, only Jim Laker has ever achieved the feat.

He recently coached the Indian cricket team for a year but later discontinued due to his differences with the captain Virat Kohli. During his stint, India recorded the victory against New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia in test matches on the home ground.
