Reliance Industries' market valuation is fast inching closer to Rs 6-lakh crore mark, buoyed by a rally in its share price.
At the close of trade today, the company's market capitalisation (m-cap) stood at Rs 5,94,078.91 crore, which is just Rs 5,921.09 crore less than Rs 6 lakh crore mark.

As the public reels from the effects of Prime Minister Modi's 'surgical strike' on black money, the demonitisation of the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, and rushes to exchange into new notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000, fans of the Rs 1000 note have reason to rejoice.

In a statement, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das has said that "in the next few month the 1000 rs notes will also be brought into the market with a completely new design, new dimension new colour combination which will look completely different from the old one."
He added that eventually all denominations of currency notes will be reintroduced with new design and features.

The removal of the Rs 1000 and introduction of the Rs 2000 note caused concern to the public as there would have been a Rs 1500 difference between the two biggest currency notes, creating difficulties in day to day life.
