Founded in 2006 by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, the Patanjali Ayurveda empire has grown exponentially. Earlier available through its various outlets, as well as in retail, Patanjali brand products will now be available in online retail.

Patanjali Ayurveda has entered into an agreement with e-commerce websites for the online sale of its Swadeshi range of Fast-moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). The Patanjali range of products would now be available on online websites such as Amazon, Flipkart, Big Basket, PayTM Mall, Grofers, Shopclues, 1mg, and others.

Addressing a press conference, Ramdev said that the online mechanism aims to provide convenient and efficient options for the public, as an extension of the traditional retail market.

"Utmost care has been taken to ensure (the) Swadeshi movement and it has been ensured that Patanjali products reach into every home without compromising on policies and business ethics," he said.

The Managing Director and CEO of Patanjali Ayurveda, Acharya Balkrishna said that the new mechanism would help the brand reach consumers who prefer to use online platforms for their shopping.

"It would reach those who do not have access to the point of purchase and they are looking for alternate mechanism to shop and can get Patanjali products at home, and provide most efficient and convenient digital shopping experience," Balkrishna said.

Patanjali provides a wide range of products in foods, medicines and cosmetics, claiming that all its products utilise principals of ayurveda. Patanjali is expecting at least a million orders per day.
