Petrol Prices Goes Up By 19-20 Paise,Diesel Rises By 20 Paise

Fuel prices on Saturday hiked in the wake of a falling rupee and increasing global crude oil prices.

Petrol, diesel prices became costlier by 19-20paise per litre across various cities of the country. 

Petrol price in the national capital crossed a mark of Rs. 70/litre. The revised price of petrol in Delhi is Rs. 70.72per litre as against Rs.70.13 per litre yesterday. Diesel is sold at  Rs 65.16.

In Gurugram, petrol price jumped to Rs 71.56 and diesel increased to Rs 64.78.

Since the beginning of 2019, petrol prices across the country have gone up by almost Rs 1.82 per litre while diesel prices have been hiked by over Rs 2 per litre.

An increase in global crude oil prices is beneficial for oil-producing countries but can significantly affect large oil-importing countries like India.

Earlier, crude prices edged higher, supported by comments from the US Federal Reserve chairman, but gains were capped as optimism surrounding US-China trade talks faded.

Crude prices fell marginally and the Brent crude futures were trading 0.21 per cent lower at $61.55 per barrel.
