Many States Want Land Bill Amended: FM Arun Jaitley At NITI Aayog Meet

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with Rural Development Minister Birender Singh and NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Arvind Panagariya briefed the media on the second Governing Council meeting of the NITI Aayog on Wednesday.
At the conference, FM Jaitley said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed land acquisition bill at NITI Aayog's Governing Council meet attended by 16 CMs."

He also said that many CMs were of the view that delay in implementing land bill slowing development projects. CMs suggested either Centre evolves a consensus on land bill or give flexibility to states to frame own laws.
