Jaguar a British multinational car manufacturer owned by the Indian company Tata Motors has unveiled 'I-Pace' in form of concept zero-emission SUV.
Earlier in February this year, company filed patents for the names 'I-Pace' and 'I-Type', which gave indications that the company is working of their new range of all-electric cars.
With the new range of all-electric cars Jaguar is looking forward to offer sports car-like performance, with looks of SUV and comfort of a typical 5-seater family car.
In these all-electric cars one permanent magnet electric motor is affixed on front and rear axles, which in turn produces 200PS and 350Nm individually. The combined power output comes out is 400PS and a monstrous 700Nm of torque.
The car is so powerful that it can catch speed from 0-100kmph in around 4 seconds and the company also claims that car is designed to give travel range up-to 500km on full charge. 'I-Pace' is powered by 90kWh lithium-ion battery than can charged up to 80% in 1.5 hours and 100% charging in 2 hours using 50kW DC charging.
Car sports a liquid-cooled battery pack fitted flat and low down, which increases gives car a flat floor and also increases boot space and cabin space too.
Unique practical arrangement of components in the car makes several storage options on offer. Since the all new 'I-Pace' is an all-electric car, so there is no combustion engine under bonnet but had a luggage compartment.
As the car comes with no transmission tunnel, the floating centre console gets an 8-litre storage compartment.
The car comes with a large boot space of 530-litres along with additional storage spaces are located under the rear seats.
If we talk about the highlights of cabin then the car sports a 12 inch high resolution driver display, 3-poke multi-functional steering wheel, a central infotainment system with touchscreen, multi-zone climate control and transmission mode shuffle button in place of traditional lever.
I-Pace comes with dimensions 4,680mm in length, which makes it shorter than the F-Pace. The concept car also gets massive 23-inch massive 'Nighthawk' wheels along with extensive use of LED lights on the outside.
I-Pace is still a concept, it is a preview of how the production car will look. The production car is scheduled to launch in 2018.
