Story behind bike's name- Bajaj Dominar 400
After showcasing the bike at 2014 Auto Expo as the Pulsar CS400, the company decided to move the new model away from the Pulsar umbrella and introduce it with a new brand.
Initially the bike was named VS400, where VS stood for Vantage Sports.
Later, company again decided to change the name from VS and named the bike 'Kratos', which means God of War. This name was given to signify the power of the bike.
But earlier this year, the company finally decided to go with all -new brand name Dominar. The concept behind name Dominor comes from the word 'Dominate' and suffix 'ar' is also induced in the name, which is an homage to the Pulsar legend.
There would be two more alphabets which will be placed before the 400 model- NS, AS and RS, similar to other new Pulsars.

The engine of the all-new Dominar 400 is designed to produce around 35bhp power, which will be sent to the rear wheel via 6-speed gearbox. The engine is designed as per the new emission norms and will be BSIV complaint.
