In a bid to uplift its marketshare in the Indian market Volkaswagen has announced the launch of a what the company claims is a "new and improved" version of the Volkswagen Vento.
When compared with its competitors the Vento falls behind, with Honda City selling around 7,000 units a month, while Maruti Ciaz selling 5,000 units a month.
The new Vento comes with a face-lift will get new reworked front bumper with three-slat chrome grille and larger air dam.
As for features, the new Volkswagen Vento will include dead pedal, auto-folding electronically adjustable ORVMs, Cruise control and cooled glovebox.
The new car will boost of the same engine as the older version, but with a much better fuel economy, the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor, comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine is available with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre TDI diesel motor is available with the choice of a 5-speed manual transmission, as well as the -speed DSG unit. The diesel Vento now has an ARAI rated fuel efficiency figure of 21.50
