Eight months after the vehicle was initially launched internationally, the Skoda has finally decided to unveil the Octavia vRS in India. The Czech automobile manufacturer is set to facelift the Octavia vRS by the end of August however the company has already let on the scoops of the vehicle.
As far as design goes, the new Octavia is just a revised version of the old Octavia sedan. However, it doesn't mean the new Octavia is not full of surprises.
The Octavia vRS comes with a wider grille and air intakes with new LED headlamps and a tweaked bumper. The headlamps has an adaptive front lighting system (AFS) while the rear is also upgraded with a black diffuser and a spoiler. Not to mention the vehicle also has LED illuminated licence plate.
The new Skoda gets a 2.0-litre TSI motor, which can produce 230bhp of power roll out a top torque of 350Nm. The vehicle can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 6.7 seconds and can reach a mind blowing top speed of 250 kmph.
The car also has another option to choose from, it's a 2.0-litre TDI engine which can produce 184bhp and top torque of 380Nm. Although it's a lot less powerful than the TSI motor, it can still cross the 100 kmph mark within 8 seconds and attain a top speed of 232 kmph.
Both variations of the engine come with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car also has a variety of driver assistance systems and latest Skoda infotainment systems as well.
In terms of interiors, the 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS has vRS sports seats in leather and fabric combination, multi-functional steering wheel with paddle shifts. The inside of the car can be flushed with ambient lighting with the LED lights while there are also some incredible changes in the illuminated door-handle recesses, umbrella holder under the driver seat and LED torch in the boot which can take your breath away.
While the price and other similar details have not been announced yet, the bookings have started and the deliveries from September.
