The SUV game just got bigger in India as Nissan has launched the New Nissan KICKS and have priced it at just Rs. 9.55 lacs(ex-showroom).
It is a D-segment SUV available in seven single tone and four dual tone shades.
There are two petrol and four diesel-powered models and across 11 colour schemes. Deliveries of the Nissan Kicks will start towards January end.
Nissan India Operations President Thomas Kuehl said, “For our target group it is all about the value. With Kicks, we created a whole new value proposition for them.”
All variants of the Nissan Kicks get dual front airbags, LED DRLs, power windows, height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable mirrors with integrated indicators and climate control with rear AC vents.
An 8.0-inch touchscreen system is standard from the XV variant onwards while the top spec XV Pre-Option variant also gets a segment first 360-degree surround camera.
Nissan is also offering three years warranty, years roadside assistance and service maintenance at zero cost with the Kicks. The company claims this adds 2-3% in value over competitive offerings.
The engine options comprise 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The former is good for 105bhp/142Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual.
The diesel one, on the other hand, produces 108bhp/240Nm with a six-speed manual.
The petrol variants have an ARAI certified efficiency of 14.23kmpl while the diesel one has an ARAI-certified efficiency of 20.4kmpl.
The diesel version is available in all variants while the petrol option is limited to the XL and XV variants.
Peyman Kargar, senior vice-president, Nissan Motor Company said, “Our target is to clearly double our presence in the region (Africa, Middle East, India) by 2022. We cannot do this without India.”
The Nissan Kicks is a rival for the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia SP2i (in production guise), Renault Duster as well as the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
