Accord 2018 - First 10-Speed Transmission FWD sedan, Launched In US

Making a global debut, Honda has unveiled the 2018 Accord in the United States. According to the Auto giant, Honda Accord 2018 will be the first First Wheel Drive sedan with a 10-speed transmission.

Accord 2018, is the 10th generation model of this popular series. In the new model, the car gets new engine options that include 1.5 ltr and 2.0 ltr turbocharged petrol mills. It also comes with Civil Type-R. While the normal motor makes 189PS and 260Nm of peak torque, the larger motor can give out a maximum torque of 250PS and 370Nm.

 

 

While the 1.5 ltr motor will come matted to CVT unit, the 2.0 ltr motor will have the world's first front-engine, front-wheel-drive 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the 2018 model of Honda accord will not be offered in the existing 3.5-litre, V-6 and the 2.4-litre, I-4.

Although the new motor does provide better performance than the previous motors, Accord fans might find themselves missing the V-6.

In the case of changes in the outer body, the new accord has a sportier, sharp and elegant look. The new sleek body of the vehicle enhances the edges and goes with the aerodynamics.

 

 

The interiors include a 50mm elongated wheelbase while the width has also been increased by 10mm. The new generation Accord will have two driving modes - Normal and Sport along with Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spots Monitoring and Cross Traffic & Driver Awareness Monitoring.

The delivery of the 2018 model is expected to start in the US soon; however, it is not expected to replace the Indian model anytime soon since the last model was just launched a year ago.
