5th Gen Verna Hits India! Know All About This Hyundai's Mid-Size Sedan

Hyundai finally launched its much-awaited 2017 Verna on Tuesday. The 5th gen sedan was launched at the ex-showroom price of Rs 7.99 lakh in India for the base petrol version. The top specification variants are priced up to Rs 12.1 Lakhs.

Hyundai has a surprise for the customers in the store. These prices are valid only for the first 20,000 customers. The Verna revision harbours advanced high strength steel body with an adequate weight. It has better fuel efficiency along with enhanced performance in comparison to the previous versions.

The new-gen Verna is available with two engine options; 1.6-litre petrol and diesel mated with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. 1.6 petrol version makes 121 bhp and 151 Nm of peak torque while the 1.6 diesel version churns out 126 bhp and peak torque of 260 Nm.

Based on the K2 platform enabling precise tuning of key suspension components for enhanced cornering and high-speed stability, the 2017 Verna is inspired by its sibling Elantra. In terms of features, the 5th-gen Verna gets projector headlamps, LED tail lamps along with LED DRLs.

2017 Verna has also adopted a chrome accented grille which the South-Korean car manufacturer claims to be first of the many future models to adopt. Car's sloping roofline and shark fin antenna have added to its looks.

The Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink system and Park Assist on the new Verna accompanied by a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit has enhanced the car's internal features.

Dual-tone cabin with satin grey accents all over enhances the bolder look. It also gets a sunroof and rear windshield blinds along with cruise control, rear AC vents, ventilated seats, and fold down hand rest for rear passengers.

Hyundai has also added various safety features to the version with 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The C-segment Verna is all ready to compete Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz for customers' attention with its prominent new styling.
