2017 Bajaj Platina ComforTec Announced With LED DRLs

Bajaj Auto has announced the launch of a refreshed version their 100cc commuter motorcycle for 2017 with LED daylight running light (DRL). The 2017 Platina ComforTec have some more cosmetic changes and will be priced at Rs 46,656 (ex-showroom).

After the TVS Victor, the new Bajaj Platina ComforTec is the second motorcycle to get the LED DRL in the 100-110cc segment. The affordable bike consumes low power and delivers a higher mileage than other 'Automatic Headlamp On' equipped motorcycles.

Eric Vas, President Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto said, "With the introduction of this upgraded Platina ComforTec, we have made a superior product even better. Customers shall love the combination of comfort, superior mileage and LED DRL styling that the new Platina offers"

With no mechanical update, the motorcycle retains the same 102cc DTS-i engine that comes coupled with a four-speed gearbox. The carbureted motor makes 7 hp of power and a torque of 8.3Nm and claims to return a fuel efficiency of over 100kmpl.

Bajaj claims that the new Platina reduces 20 percent jerks compared to other motorcycles in its segment. The Bajaj Platina competes with the likes of the Hero HF Deluxe, TVS Sport, Honda CD 110 Dream and the Yamaha Saluto RX.

The variant gets a redesigned instrument cluster while continuing to use an analogue speedometer, fuel and odometer gauges. The motorcycle also gets a new graphic scheme and will be available in only two colour trims - ebony black with silver graphics and cocktail wine with red graphics.
